For the past week, all the classes in Year 3 have been getting ready for this year’s performance about how settlements are made. We have each been making props from cardboard to use on stage to show the slow process that occurs when a beautiful forestry area becomes chopped down and replaced with a village, then a town, and finally a city.
For our performance we had to make; trees, animals, bulldozers, cranes, and a variety of buildings, like houses, flats and tall buildings, cinemas, supermarkets and bowling alleys.
The children did really well remembering where they had to stand, how to get on and off the stage, and learn the lines to the performance song ‘Big Yellow Taxi’, by Jonie Mitchell.
We hope you enjoy the pictures of our fantastic show! And if you were able to make it, we hope you enjoyed every minute of it!
