Year 6 enjoyed a brilliant performance from the Barking and Dagenham Jazz Band this week. This is part of the children’s learning about the blues and jazz in music, which is linked to their history topic on the Second World War.
The children were not only amazing audience members, they also got involved with the performance- adding body percussion and even joining the band. They were able to draw on their understanding of a swing beat and the blues melody, to add to their appreciation of the performance.
