In Science this week we have been looking at how a chemical reaction can occur and whether the change we saw was reversible or irreversible. To see the effects of this in action, we placed a vitamin C tablet into a small cup of water. at first we thought it would dissolve, but then when looking closer, the colour of the water had turned a dark orange, whilst hearing a loud fizzing sound. We discovered the tablet had reacted with the water, causing these changes to occur.
We then explained how this change is irreversible and that we can not change the water back into a tablet. Here are some pictures showing our patience and curiosity in our experiment.
