In Year 6 music we have been composing based on the chorus to Taylor Swift’s pop hit ‘Shake it Off’. We’ve been using techniques that pop musicians use, including listening, playing by ear and jamming (improvising).
We started by playing along to the recording of ‘Shake it Off’. Then we mastered the rhythm and began to explore the melody and base line. Then we worked in groups to create our own compositions.
