New playground equipment and games have been in full use on the playground.
It has been lovely to see the year 4 children engaged, playing and teaching the younger children in the school. It has shown us their maturity and has expanded their imaginations!
This week, in class, we have continued our learning by replying back to the Frog Prince’s letter in role of the princess. Most children decided it was about time the princess forgave him and he should return to the castle! We focused on our language choices and most of us used a rhetorical question in our writing! Over the last few weeks we have been editing our work in whole class editing sessions. We are now seeing the children to self edit their work as they go! The Year 4 teacher are all very impressed!
In maths, we have been continuing to use our rounding and estimating skills. We have also remembered the methods to multiply 1 digit and 2 digit numbers. To help learn our timetables, we are now using ‘Times Tables Rock Stars’. The Year 4 teachers are on the look out as ‘band mangers’ for talented times tables ‘musicians’.
During the afternoons, we have continued to learn about our local community. This week, we have researched and recorded about a historical event in our local community. We researched into the Ford Strikes and how they changed not only Dagenham but the rest of the U.K.
