Last week, Monteagle students explored how even when we are apart, the power of music can bring us together. Through remote online music lessons and activities we have been sharing our favourite songs, body percussion and the instruments we have at home.
We had an online singing assembly which saw a 100 students from across the school come together to sing ‘Lovely Day’ by Bill Withers – which we are currently preparing as part of the Young Voices World’s Biggest Sing on 2 February at 2 pm which will be streamed live from the o2 Arena.
We also had an online band practise and choir rehearsal. Music is a fantastic way of connecting with others, and is a wonderful way of promoting mental health and well being – especially in these hard times.
We hope you enjoy this short film of some fantastic Monteagle musicians from last week:
Keep singing and keep smiling!
