This week in Maths , we have been learning about positions.
For one of our physical tasks, children placed a teddy and described the teddy’s position using their relative positional language such as ‘under’, ‘next to, ‘in between’ and ‘behind’.
Teaching children positional words helps build children’s ability to follow and give directions and use language accurately.
Using props such as the teddy, helps encourage children to physically act-out a range of positions in relation to another object and is a good way of helping support their contextual understanding
Take a look at some of the pictures.
