The time had finally arrived for Year 3 to have their camping experience at school overnight. Weeks the children have been waiting to stay at school, have a lot of fun and sleep with their friends in huge tents until the early morning.
The children had a mixture of activities to begin with, like; rounders, circus skills and orienteering, with a cheeky marshmallow on the fire to finish. They were so excited to get going, but not as excited to sleep in the tents!
Before getting ready for bed, we had some hot dogs and ice lollies for dinner. There weren’t much left by the end of it! After dinner, we relaxed and watched a bit a movie in the hall. Then….it was tent time!!
We got changed into our pyjamas and brushed our teeth, and were taken out to our sleeping area for the night. It was raining a lot and we had to move quickly to not get all our sleeping bags and blankets wet.
Once we had settled into our tents, we had some free time to read books or magazine, play games with our friends, or just sit and chat for a bit before lights out.
Before we knew it, it was morning, and we were up and awake ready to get changed and have some breakfast. until eventually, we were picked up and had the rest of Tuesday to stay at home and rest from our long night of fun and excitement.
We are so glad we did it this year, and although the teachers were very tired, they also (secretly) enjoyed themselves too.
Here are some pictures of our camping experience.
