We have been reading ‘Grandad’s Island’ in our writing lesson over the last few weeks. We are now getting ready to write our own version of the story next week.
So, this week we looked at what makes a good story. We looked though a story and found some of the features.
We then highlighted them, both independently and as a class.
We highlighted:
Full stops and capital letters;
Proper nouns;
Conjunctions
And past tense words.
As a class we then discussed what was the beginning, middle and the end.
We can’t wait to write our own one next week!
