This week, year 4 explored Willow pattern style art, which originated in China. The children got to explore the use of ink in art, learning about how different tones can be achieved through diluting ink with different amounts of water. They also got to learn about how ink behaved differently on surfaces (including fingers!) when compared to other liquid mediums.
The children aimed to re-create sections of known stories to tell all parts of the tale in one place, similar to the style of the original Willow art.
