This week, Year 2 have been using dienes to add and subtract numbers on a place value mat. To do this, we made each number we wanted to add using the dienes, then made sure we started by first adding the ones, then the tens and finally the hundreds.
Once they mastered this, they started recording their answers using the written column method. They are looking forward to moving onto tricker numbers where they will need to exchange next week!
