This week in Year 1 we have been exploring 2D shapes. The children have been studying the properties of 2D shapes and using their properties to sort shapes and select suitable shapes for particular purposes. We have been building pictures with shapes and locating shapes in pictures, around the classroom and in the playground. The children had lots of fun and are now shape experts!
Also this week we have been thinking about remembrance day and talking about why people wear poppies at this time of the year. During the week, we have been carrying out related fine motor activities and have even created our own poppies to wear.
