This week in Reception we have been learning all about Luna New Year.
The children read the story about Jade Emperor’s race to determine which animals would have a year named after them. We discovered that this year is the year of the rabbit.
To celebrate Lunar New Year we made spring rolls. We found out which ingredients we would need and read instructions about how to prepare them. We cut and grated our vegetables, placed them in filo pastry and wrapped them up. Lots of the children told us how much they enjoyed eating them at home.
