This week is Autism Acceptance Week across the country and Monteagle hold this week very important. This is due to Monteagle having a number of children in the school and an ARP setting where we support up to 40 children every day who are diagnosed with autism.

ARP stands for ‘Additional Resource Provision’ where we support children with autism. We support their learning and do everything we can to teach them how to socialise, how to complete everyday tasks and how to manage their daily routine for adulthood. We also support the families each day to find ways they can support their children at home and make the child’s home life as calm and safe as possible.

As mentioned in our last website post, Monteagle are trying to raise money for a charity named ‘Sycamore Trust’ charity. They work with families who need extra support and help in a number of different ways. They have already helped some of our parents and been there to talk and give extra advice when outside of school settings, such as holidays. They do an amazing job in the local community for autistic children. They organise events and day-outs for people to join in with. They also provide a safe space for children and young adults to go if they are feeling overwhelmed.

At Monteagle, we want to raise as much money as possible for this charity this week! To do this, Monteagle are taking part in the Sycamore Trust fundraising event ‘Do You Dare?’ where the children and staff can dress up in whatever they like; football kits, pyjamas, fancy dress, etc.

All we ask is that a very small donation of £1 is donated to the charity to take part. If you wish to donate more please feel free! Every donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated!

As a school, we are trying to raise £700 for the charity. But of course if we could raise more that would be incredible for the charity and the families they support! Please click on the link below to go to our JustGiving page to donate what you can! And thank you so much!
