It was fantastic to see the reception year children having a great time at this year’s Summer Fete, on Tuesday, 11thJuly.2023. It is organised every year in our school by the, ‘Friends of Monteagle’.
There was so much for our children to do: All children had an opportunity to win a prize at the football hattrick, attended free dance class session and also had free biscuits and juice. There were stalls set up to buy gifts, hot dogs, hook a duck, face painting and also had an ice–cream van selling all kinds of ice-creams, slushy drinks and ice- lollies- great stuff! We also had our local, ‘Fire Brigade Team’ , who became our reception children’s hot favourite as the fire brigade team, showed our children their Fire Engines and each child was given the opportunity to use the powerful water hoses. Children explored the fire engines by getting inside them and were also fascinated with all their flashing blue lights-it’s truly been an unforgettable experience for one and all!.
Overall the summer fete has been one of the most exciting and enjoyable events amongst numerous fantastic events held in our school for children to not only enjoy learning in their classrooms but also to learn and have fun outdoors as well!
All the reception year staff and children have conveyed a very big, ‘Thank you’, to Friends of Monteagle and all the school staff who worked so hard for organising and hosting our Summer Fete!
