Last Tuesday, Year 5 embarked on an exciting trip to the Tower of London. We started our day at Upney station and took the District Line to Tower Hill, where the iconic Tower of London awaited.
At the Tower’s entrance, Lady Latimer, an expert guide, welcomed us with captivating tales of Tudor England. She brought history to life by sharing stories of Henry VIII and his six wives. We were transported back in time, learning about the intrigue and power struggles of that era.
One of the highlights of our trip was meeting the famous Tower ravens, said to protect the monarchy. These majestic birds added an element of mystique to our day.
Another unforgettable part of our visit was the Crown Jewels. The sparkling items left some lasting impressions about the monarchy on us all.
Our journey was the perfect introduction to our upcoming history topic. It provided a real-life connection to Tudor England, and we can’t wait to explore this fascinating period further in our lessons.
