Hello! It’s Amarda, Alessia and Emilia from 6A.
English
This week in English we have been reading more about Rose Blanche. Stumbling upon a group of Jewish children imprisoned in a concentration camp. We have also been looking at debates and rebuttals throughout the week. On Friday, we had a debate whether Rose Blanche should help the children in the concentration camp or not.
Maths
This week in Maths, we were learning about Prime numbers such as: 2,3,7 and 13 and many more because a Prime number is when a number can only be divided by one and itself. We also learnt about common multiples – common multiples are when a number is in any timetable and another. Another thing we learnt about was Rules of divisibility. Rules of divisibility is a easier and quicker way to find out if a number can go into another big number – if you want to find out if 2 goes into a big number like 342 you would have to look at the last number and see if it’s even or not, if it was then that meant 2 could go into it. If it was 3 then you would have to add the big numbers up and if it was in the three timetable then 3 would be able to go into that number. If it was 4 then you would have to check if the last two digits end with a number that is a multiple of 4.
Science
This week in science we were looking at Evolution and Inheritance. We looked at the big questions such as, How does the human body work? and Why are there so many species of animals? We also discussed theories that people believed hundreds of years ago. An example of one of their theories is, that Noah’s flood was responsible for all of the extinct organisms e.g. dinosaurs.
History
In History this week we learnt about the evacuation for children in World War II. We also did a freeze frame about how some of the children weren’t as happy as the others because some were worrying about leaving their families. Some of them were happy because it was a new adventure for them.
That’s it for this week, have a lovely weekend from,
Amarda, Alessia and Emilia.
