This week Reception children have been learning to develop their interaction skills. They have been given numerous opportunities during planned and child- initiated activities. All the children have been encouraged by adults working with them to extend their communication skills during various activities, both indoors and outdoors.
They have enjoyed these sessions and learning opportunities especially while participating in a role play of going camping and roasting marshmallows on an imaginary camp fire. All the children have been very excited to participate in these interactive activities and enjoyed extending their conversation with not only their classmates but also with children in other reception classes as well. It was lovely to see all the children having short and long discussions with each other.
You can also help your children develop their interaction skills by encouraging them to speak about their favourite toy, encouraging them to interact by asking them how their day has been or what was their most favourite activity during that particular day. Let’s together make every reception child a confident talker!
