This whole week, children in the four classes will be visiting the V&A to make a study of their Curtain Up exhibition.

London and New York are two of the world’s leading theatre capitals, home to the vibrant theatre districts of the West End and Broadway. Presenting plays and musicals, their famed theatres host an array of talented international practitioners, both centre stage and behind the scenes.

To mark the 40th anniversary of the Olivier Awards in April 2016, Curtain Up explores the cultural connections between these two great centres. It showcases some of their most acclaimed productions in the last 40 years.

It is designed by Olivier Award-winning theatre designer Tom Piper and RFK Architects, Curtain Up is a unique transatlantic collaboration between and V&A, London, The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts and Lincoln Centre, and the Society of London Theatre. (SOLT).

The children enjoyed their visit and looked at lighting designs, promotion,  theatre and design, and more. Check out the photos below!
