This week, reception children have been reading a well-known traditional story, ‘the gingerbread man’. In this story an old woman bakes a gingerbread man who springs to life, dashes out of the oven, and sets off on a wild adventure. Despite the best efforts of children, animals, and even the old woman and her husband, the gingerbread man manages to outrun them all. His famous catchphrase echoes through the tale: “Run, run as fast as you can! You can’t catch me. I’m the Gingerbread Man!” However, his escape comes to a tragic end when a sly fox tricks him and has him for his dinner.
Children enjoyed working on a variety of activities, both, indoors and outdoors. They all worked hard and enjoyed all the activities set up for them. Have a look at the activities and you will find that all the children enjoyed and were happily engaged in all their areas of learning this week.
This weekend, at your leisure, please go through some more traditional tales with them. Also, do encourage your children to read their Collins eBooks online.
Happy Reading!
