Reception children have been reading the book-Astro Girl written by Ken Wilson-Max. This is a story about a little girl, named Astrid, who loves space and aspires to be an astronaut! It’s is an interesting book with delightful illustrations and some fun facts about pioneering female astronauts from the 20th century. A lovely book for the young readers interested in facts about space. After reading Astro Girl, reception children learnt many facts about space and our solar system. Children now know that our solar system consists of Sun which is a star, and everything is bound to it by gravity – the planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune; dwarf planets such as Pluto. To celebrate their learning, a mobile Planetarium- Explorer Dome has been invited this coming Monday to make their experience, one of the most memorable experiences of early childhood. Children have done lots of activities based on space. Their activities’ photographs will speak more than the words. Do take a look at all the amazing activities reception children have done this week, that is from writing about space, planets, making space-station, moon buggies, rockets and even aliens. All the children are very excited to experience the wonders of space which they will do with the visit by the mobile Planetarium!
