This week, children from Year 4 and 5, who are members of the Key Stage 2 choir, took part in the Borough Music Festival at Gascoigne Primary School in Dagenham.
The festival began with us all singing the song, ‘Power in me’ with children from the other five schools in attendance. We then took it in turns to perform individual pieces and finished with everyone singing ‘Life is a wonderful thing’ in unison. Monteagle performed ‘Sunflower’ and our mash up of ‘Just the way you are’ with ‘Stand by me’, with excellent soloist Asher from 5E singing and drummer Kayden from 4MB on the cajon. The children performed with confidence, remembered all their words and made me incredibly proud of them! Well done!
It was such a wonderful experience as the other schools performed a number of songs we knew already as well as some new songs we hadn’t heard before which we may well add to our repertoire – watch this space!
The children even sang on the bus all the way home, much to the delight of the other passengers! We hope you enjoy seeing how we got on below.
