Have you heard of the term ‘cacao’?

Cacao seeds are one of the main ingredients in chocolate.

Children watched a video of the journey of chocolate from Côte d’Ivoire to consumers’ homes, paying particular attention to where the cocoa beans go and what happens to them. We also discussed the different transports that were used and the different processes a cocoa bean goes through to become chocolate. Children enjoyed creating their own storyboard of the journey of a cocoa bean using illustrations and captions.
