This week Reception children have been reading a well-known book , ‘The Blue Penguin’, written by Petr Horacek.
All the children enjoyed the story and learnt about, ‘friendship and being kind and friendly to all their mates’. They learnt that the blue penguin felt lonely and sad as he had no friends, but after meeting a true friend he was happy and was no longer sad or lonely. During one of the follow-up activities, children discussed about friendship, and had group discussion about how to be a good friend. They also learnt to draw the blue penguin.
All the children enjoyed doing fine motor, sensory and many other creative activities.
They all had loads of fun being creative!
