This week we were visited by Laura from the London Fire Brigade. She told us all about fire safety, and how it’s important to make a fire plan so everyone knows what to do in an emergency. Laura also explained that fires are very rare, but it’s better to be prepared.
You can use the Home Fire Safety https://www.london-fire.gov.uk/safety/the-home/home-fire-safety/home-fire-safety-checker-hfsc/ to check if your home needs smoke alarms fitted. If the result recommends that a Home Fire Safety Visit is required, then you can book the service to your home and will be carried out either by Firefighters from the closest local fire station or by Community Safety Officers from London Fire Brigade. They will provide fire safety advice and fit smoke alarms where needed. The visits and smoke alarms are completely free of charge.
