Hello, everyone!
We are the School Council, and we’ve been super busy since we started in the Autumn term. Here’s an update on everything we’ve been working on so far:
Improving the School Menu
One of the first things we did was work with Ms. Nevzat to decide on options for the new school menu. After lots of discussions, we’re happy to say that it’s been a big hit! Everyone seems to love the changes, especially the meatballs, sausages, and nuggets—those are definitely the top dishes! We’ve also noticed that the new dinner hall is a huge success. It feels like a proper secondary school, and there’s enough room for everyone. Plus, all the knives and forks are ready when we sit down, and the hall is always clean.
Making the School Council Visible
We want everyone to know who we are and feel comfortable talking to us, so we’ve chosen lanyards as a way to be more visible around the school. Right now, we’re designing badges to go with them—we’re really excited to show you the final look soon!
Preparing for Our SLT Meeting
We’re getting ready for our first official meeting with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT). In this meeting, we’ll share our suggestions on how we can make our school an even better place for everyone. If you have any ideas, feel free to share them with your class council reps so we can bring them to the meeting!
Celebrating School Successes
At our last meeting, we talked about some of the things we’re really proud of in our school. Here are just a few:
Swimming (Year 5 and Year 6): Everyone loves it! The water is heated, the instructors are super nice, and it’s been fun learning how to breathe underwater.
Lessons: Lots of members shared how much they enjoy PE, Art, Music, English, and especially French—it’s fun learning a new language!
The New Dinner Hall: We can’t say enough good things about it!
We’re so excited about all the progress we’ve made and can’t wait to do even more to make our school the best it can be. Thank you for all your support, and don’t forget to share your ideas with us.
