This week has been Maths week at Monteagle, and some of our children have been completing tasks set by the mainstream teachers. This is new for our children, but the feedback was fantastic! The children participated really well with the tasks and worked together to crack the Maths codes. They were tricky, but with a little support from each other, they were able to find the answers.
As well as this, other classes were looking at friction and different materials in science. They needed to try different cars with a range of tyre materials and see which one went the furthest whilst being pushed down a ramp onto the carpet.
Each child was given a car, and took turns to push their car to see who’s went the furthest. They waited patiently and had some great group discussions around the activity, which is a big part of scientific evidence.
Take a look a the pictures below for the children completing their Maths week code-breaking and science activities.
