The ARP have just completed their 4 week swimming block and they loved it! At first, some of the children were unsure of the pool, but once they were in, they splashed around and really enjoyed their time, with some not wanting to get out!
Some of the children needed some support with the pool if they were less confident than other, but the class leads and some of the ARP Leadership team got into the pool to support those children with their swimming to engage in different ways. It is a shame that it has finished, but we look forward to the next swimming session already!
When they weren’t swimming, we had other children participating in some sensory trays filled with a range of different textures, such as; flour, glitter and slime! The children who enjoy this sensory texture of wet and messy play really get stuck in. They can sometimes make a huge mess, but it helps them engage so much with their learning and calms them down to help them stay happy. Take a look at the pictures below to see the children swimming and getting messy.
Christmas Lunches, Sensory Activities and Performances
On another note, on Wednesday 18th December, the ARP are hosting a parent workshop for parents to come in and spend time with their children for the Christmas holiday. We had a picnic this term and it was a great success, with parents who attended asking if this is something we can provide more often.
On this day, parent can come in and make Christmas decorations, sing songs, eat lunch and watch a Christmas show put on by the children. Each class will be hosting something slightly different to their parents, but it would be lovely to have so many parents attend if you can. A time has been sent out to you for your child’s class activities and lunch, so please check when this is.
If you would like more information on this, please email Karen or phone the ARP office and we can pass on any information.
