This half term, Year 6 have been working on their own compositions. Having learnt a song entitled ‘Disco Fever’ which is unsurprisingly in the style of disco music, they spent time creating their own instrumentals on either the glockenspiel or keyboard using a minimum of five notes.
Once happy with their improvisations, they turned these into compositions in the form of graphic scores, later followed by creating their own formal stave notation compositions in pairs. In the final week, children were invited to perform their final compositions to their classmates.
