This week in English, Year 3 practiced using formal language to make complaints in various scenarios through roleplay. Before diving into the main activity, the children engaged in a brief discussion with their learning partners about which scenarios sounded more polite and why politeness is important. Children then paired up with a learning partner, with one child playing the role of the complainer and the other as the listener. The listener’s role also summarised the complaint. The children did an excellent job during the task, showing great attention as they carefully listened to the discussions of other groups.
