Year 3 students are currently exploring the fascinating world of rocks in science. This week, as part of their lesson, they took a local walk around the school to observe and identify the different types of buildings and the rocks they are constructed from. The children also investigated whether any man-made rocks could be found in the area and discussed their various uses. Along the way, they noticed signs of rocks on the ground showing signs of wear and tear. Working in groups, they took photos on their iPads and completed a survey for the ‘British Rock Museum’, sharing their findings from this hands-on exploration.
