Before the half term, the children in Reception were busy exploring 3D shapes.
They were building models from the junk modelling, making 3D shapes using straws and blu-tac and finding different 3D shapes in our environment.
The children were beginning to name and recognise Cubes, Cones, Spheres, Cylinders, Cuboids and Pyramids, as well as describing their properties, counting the number of faces, vertices and edges they each had!
“It is a cube because it has eight Vertices.” Rio Commented.
“It is a cuboid because it has six faces but the faces are not the same.” Umar identified.
