Yesterday a group of year six children travelled to Shoreditch Town Hall to work with directors from the Schools Shakespeare Festival for their upcoming show of Julius Caesar which is being performed on the 21st November 2017.
The children learned about the history of the town hall including that it was built in 1865 and still maintains much of the Victorian architecture despite a fire in the early 1900’s. Plays and musicals would take place there up until the 1950’s when it was used for boxing matches.
The children were able to work with another school and show their scenes to each other. They worked extremely hard during our session and really impressed the directors on the day.
“I really enjoyed being able to play in the space and became an actor.”- Ignas from 6C
“I loved getting onĀ the stage that many people have performed on before me.”- Brandon
