This week Year 3 have become worm investigators!!
A bunch of worms, somehow, found their way into our classes (with a little help from Mr. McCarthy, the site manager). With this, the children decided to investigate how worms move and what helps them move in this way. The children found that the main reason was because they do not have a skeleton.
They learnt what it means to have a skeleton, and how a skeleton helps an animal or human move the way they do, and why it benefits a worm NOT to have one at all!
At first, the children were afraid to touch or even get close to the worms. After a while, however, they became more confident and were really excited to learn more about this boneless creature. Here are some pictures of the children being amazing worm investigators:
