This week each class began their exploration into Electricity, specifically circuits. Over the course of this half term, we plan to investigate how variation in the working of particular components, such as the brightness of bulbs, can be changed by increasing or decreasing the number of cells or using cells of different voltages. Additionally we aim for the children to draw circuit diagrams of a range of simple series circuits, using all the recognised symbols.
This week we looked at a ‘Concept Cartoon’ (picture attached above) and explored some of the different opinions and misconceptions the cartoon characters were sharing. The children were enthusiastic to explore their own personal views and ideas and we are looking forward to delving further into the topic over the next few weeks.
