This week in our Science lessons in Year 5, we have been learning about the sizes of the Earth, Sun and the Moon. We discussed the evidence that was known about the sizes of the Earth, Sun and the Moon. To explain the concept of direct evidence, the children undertook an investigation that illustrated the concept.
The children had to observe a pencil in a transparent cup filled with water. They then had to record their observations, discuss and come to a conclusion. Was what they had observed direct evidence or not?
