This week, reception children have been working very hard to improve their skills of counting. They have been using objects like colourful cubes, Lego blocks, puppets, wooden blocks, buttons and many other objects. They now know the purpose of counting. To make counting more fun, Children used puppets and magic wands and enjoyed their learning. They have learnt that the last number we say, when we count tells us how many things there are altogether and that moving objects is a good way to count carefully.
As the saying goes, ‘Practise makes Perfect!’, why not try encouraging your little ones to practice and sharpen their counting skills at home? They can use a variety of objects which are already present at home, for example counting the steps, socks, buttons, cups, spoons, coins, etc.
Have a lovely week-end and enjoy counting together!
