When it comes to role play, Y6 children can come up with some truly amazing stories and scenarios. This week children created a roleplay of a shipwreck from our text ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’. In the roleplay, Michael- an eleven year old boy – was thrown overboard and ended up in the sea during a relentless storm.
Their performance was so convincing that we almost felt like we were in the book! It was an oscar-worthy performance with great acting, improvising and props. The only thing that was missing was the sea-sickness… of course, none of the characters actually got hurt in the process and everyone had a lot of fun. It was a great example of how creative and imaginative children can be. And if you’re wondering whether they managed to rescue Micahel…well, you’ll have to read ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’ to find out!
