The children have had a great time beginning their new topics in art and DT this year.
In year 1, the children learned about abstract art and composition. They considered size, colour, shape and line to experiment with various compositions, which they took digital photos of. They were then able to review their designs, selecting their favourites to complete.
In year 5’s architecture topic, the children learned vital skills of sketching and measuring when it comes to drawing accurately. They began with measuring and sketching the shapes of the outline, pressing lightly enough to rub out any measurement lines. Once sketched, the children were then able to add details. They took the learning on board and were all able to produce some really impressive houses.
