In Year 3 our exploration of the music by Antonin Dvorak has continued! We have completed our melodies, based on Dvorak’s ‘Largo.’
We are now moving on to writing an accompaniment for our melodies (an accompaniment is music that is played alongside a melody).
We started composing our own accompaniment by listening to Dvorak’s and brain storming adjectives to describe it. Some of our adjectives included: heart-breaking, tearful and lonely.
We then used the rhythm of our words to compose our accompaniments using clapping and un-pitched instruments:
