Last week, Year 4 read even more of our fantastic book ‘Noah Barleywater runs away’.
We listened intently to one particular section of the text, which described in detail a morning sunrise in a forest.
“The forest floor was suddenly illuminated by a bright sheet of golden sunlight, which flooded through the dew-soaked leaves of grass and the branches of the trees.”
Before painting, we discussed our ideas for how we might depict this in a painting and sketched out our ideas. Once happy with our sketches, we used the primary colours (blue, yellow and red) to mix secondary and tertiary colours to create our forest sunrise paintings. We also used white and black to create different shades.
