This week, Reception children read a very popular storybook, ‘Dear zoo.’ They were able to read repetitive sentences together, made predictions based on the front cover and shared their experiences about their trip to the zoo with their families. Many children were able to discuss what animals are found in the zoo. They gave their reasons about why some animals are kept in the zoo. They also spoke about the sounds made by the zoo animals, what their diet is and used interesting words to describe each animal and it’s habitat. Children, after learning about the zoo animals made their own zoo models using a variety of construction resources. They even made zoo using 3d shapes and animals using magnetics, which was very creative!
