Reception children have been learning about Space. This week they have learnt all about our solar system. Children now know that our solar system consists of our Sun which is a star, and everything is bound to it by gravity – the planets Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune; dwarf planets such as Pluto; dozens of moons; and millions of asteroids, comets, and meteoroids. Beyond our own solar system, we have discovered thousands of planetary systems orbiting other stars in the Milky Way. To celebrate their learning, mobile Planetarium- Explorer Dome was invited to make them experience the wonders of space. All the children were totally mesmerized when they experienced viewing all the planets, learnt about why we see the different phases of the moon, how we have day and night on our planet earth and all about stars and the planets.
All the children really enjoyed this unique experience. The dome was an incredible way to learn about the wonders of space due to the unique environment the dome created!
After seeing the photos, you can imagine how much fun-filled learning all the reception children have had!
