Year 1 have been absolutely awesome this half term. They transitioned from using books and pencils to using Class Dojo and Zoom. Most children have now learnt how to put themselves on and off mute and are very mature about taking turns. They have found a variety of ways to share learning including photos and videos.
We have spent the past two weeks building the skills needed to create our own version of the Robot and the Bluebird. We have been careful to have a clear beginning, middle and end while using adjectives to make our writing interesting.
In maths, we learnt how to use tens and ones to recognise amount. We also practiced writing numbers in words and numerals.
This week in Art, we looked at the work of David Hockey who inspired us to use fruit and vegetables to create an outdoor scene.
In science, we have learnt to differentiate between Herbivores, Carnivores and Omnivores. We even looked at our own pets to see what their diet was like.
