We’ve had a wonderful first week back in Year 6 at Monteagle Primary School. The children’s behaviour has been outstanding, reflecting their newfound maturity and eagerness to learn. We began the week by sharing our hopes and anxieties about the year ahead, writing our worries on balloons, then discussing solutions before popping them to symbolise how problems can be solved and disappear. In English, we’ve started reading Letters from the Lighthouse, a captivating book that ties in perfectly with our history topic of World War II, following the adventures of two young evacuees from London to Devon. In maths, we’ve eased into place value, providing a gentle reintroduction to the subject. We’re excited for what’s ahead this year, including our trip to Valence House, the residential to Trewern and the end of year show at Jo Richardson. The year 6 teachers want to thank the children and their parents for an amazing start to year 6!
