During the month of October, Monteagle hosts an art event that is getting larger each year we do it. This is our second year creating this event at Monteagle.
Overnight our school halls were changed into an outer space galaxy for our key stage one children, and Willy Wonka’s wonderful chocolate factory for our key stage two children. The children got the opportunity to draw not only these fantastic scenes but also their teachers in them.
This was our biggest event yet! Not only did we have thirteen secondary students from Eastbury Community School come to support our children with their drawings, we also had artists from the University of Arts London come to work with our year 5 children on two separate installation pieces that are now in the Art studio and the Music Room.
The children really enjoyed themselves:
“I liked when Miss Morris dressed up as Willy Wonka and I got to draw her!” – Charlie from 3M
“I enjoyed drawing and seeing the teachers get all dressed up.” – Emily from 3M
Check out the fabulous work that was created by the students.
