We were very happy to see all of the children back in school this week and have been really pleased with the focus
they have already shown in knuckling down to their learning. We have already started thinking about our new topic this term, ‘Treasure Island’ and have begun reading ‘Grandad’s Island’ written by Benji Davies.
This week, the children took on the role of either Grandad or Syd and had to role play a scene of them having a conversation in Grandad’s attic. The children did really well at improvising possible conversations that they may have had and really got into role as their character by changing their voice or the way they move. We are looking forward to using our ideas in our writing on Friday to write our conversations.
