As part of our new unit ‘Treasure Island’, Year 2 visited Chatham Dockyard to experience life on a boat as a pirate! We spent the day learning about the different parts of the HMS Gannet, climbing ladders and even learned some new ‘pirate’ language.
During the day we went aboard a submarine called the HM Ocelot. Once aboard, you could really notice how small some of the entry points were and how little space the crew had to sleep, eat and do their jobs!
