This week the ARP wanted to host a Christmas Fun day for parents/ family to attend and participate in a range of Christmas sensory activities with their children, along with Christmas shows and Christmas dinners.

We set this up as we had so much positive feedback from the picnic we hosted last term, with parents/ family who attended asking if we could do more of these days. So, we thought Christmas was a perfect way to host this again. However, this time we took full advantage of the time of year. We offered parents/ family an opportunity to come into school and watch a Christmas show that the children put together. Then to make Christmas cards or decorations, as well as having sensory trays set up with tinsel, glitter and messy play for them to engage in alongside their children. Finally, we included the Christmas dinner into the mix. This way the parents/ family also had the chance to sit and eat lunch with their children. Parents and children were offered a Christmas dinner by the school if they wanted to, or to bring in their own lunch to have.

Overall, we had nearly 45 parents attend, which is an incredible number. Every class was filled with parents and family members, which is more than we could ever have imagined. We really hope you all enjoyed the experience and you had the chance to take pictures and videos of your children to share with family.

We want to say a massive thank you to those parents and family members who attended the day. It can sometimes be hard to attend these events due to other commitments, but we are so grateful that you could attend and enjoy the day with us and the children! Take a look at the pictures below to see the children and family attending.

We would also like to say a huge thank you to the staff for setting up the events and putting together a Christmas show for the parents and family members. It has been a long process to teach the children the songs to sing, learn their lines, and ensure everything is ready for you all to attend. Everything ran so smoothly across the day, and we could not have asked for a better day!

All the staff in the ARP wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Enjoy your breaks and we will see you back in the New Year!
