In our religion lessons this half term, the children have been learning about why the Bible is a special book for Christians. They explored the stories of the Good Samaritan and Joseph and his dreams, deepening their understanding of these important teachings. As part of their learning, they participated in carousel activities to examine the contents of the Bible more closely.

On the 27th of November, the children visited St. Albans Church to discover how Christians use the Bible in their worship. The children learned that in some churches, people don’t have a Bible in front of them, as they prefer to focus on what the priest or vicar is discussing. Some attendees bring a notebook to write notes about the sermon, which they can reflect on and use during the week. Others choose to make notes directly in their Bibles to help them engage more deeply with the teachings. During the trip, the children also learned more about the two stories they looked at in class, enriching their understanding of their significance in the Christian faith.
